About & Mission

A community effort for transparency and accountability through the power of Referendum and Constitutional Revision

The Red Owl Group brings together our people of the MHA Nation who believe in open governance, accountability, and the right of the people to be informed.

Our mission

We are our people of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation working to promote transparency and accountability in tribal governance. Our aim is to make public information accessible so that our people can understand the matters that affect their families, their resources, and their future.

The effort is grounded in respect for our people and heritage, and in the belief that good governance is open governance. We pursue these goals through lawful, public, and peaceful means — including the courts, the public record, and community engagement.

This site gathers documents, news coverage, announcements, and resources in one place. Where we describe ongoing matters, we present them as efforts and publicly reported information, and we encourage everyone to review the sources directly.
